Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is committed to protecting the privacy rights of individuals. Personal information collected by NRCan is protected in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act. Submission of your personal information, including your name, email, phone number, mailing address, etc., constitutes your consent to the collection, use, storage and disclosure of your personal information by NRCan for the administration of the associated program. This information is being collected and used pursuant to section 6(i) of the Natural Resources Act and will be retained in accordance with the retention policy or until such time as a request is received to remove your personal information from the database.
The individual must draw a distinction between personal information held by NRCan and that held by other institutions or jurisdictions.
Individuals to whom the personal information pertains have the right to the protection of and access to their personal information under the Privacy Act, subject to certain exceptions and exemptions. Individuals have the right to file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada regarding the institution’s handling of the individual’s personal information.
